Why These 3 Restaurants?
We chose these based on three criteria:
Great Value (C/P): You get way more bang for your buck.
Local Approval: Not just for tourists; Tokyoites eat here.
Unforgettable Taste: Seriously good Wagyu and unique dishes.
This time, I want to share a few yakiniku restaurants that I love. Of these, my personal favorite is the first one, named Ringo. Truthfully, I’d rather not see it get too popular — but I also really want more people to know about places as special as this one, which is why I’m sharing it here.
Tucked away in chic Nakameguro, Ringo is a sophisticated but fun Yakiniku where the main protagonist is the A4 grade Wagyu beef from Kyushu and twists on the theme with apples.
What Makes It Special:
Kyushu A4 Female Wagyu: Perfectly marbled for flavour but lean enough it won’t weigh you down. Sourced directly for better value.
Chic & Private Vibe: Modern ambience and semi private booth setting for dining and dating.
Playful Apple Theme: From chopstick rests to a unique apple gari (pickled apple), it adds a fun, memorable touch.
Must-Order Dishes:
Yaki-shabu Yukke (~$5/slice): Torched-at-your-table Wagyu wrapped around quail egg. Pure melt-in-your-mouth magic.
Mentai Negi Tan (~$12): A brilliant twist – tongue with spicy cod roe & scallions.
Niku Sushi (~$3.50/piece): Delicious Wagyu sushi served with refreshing apple gari.
How to Book:
Online (Recommended): Use Tabelog (English available) or similar booking sites.
Phone: Possible, but likely Japanese only (+81-3-3710-1177).
Pro Tips:
Courses ($40-$70) offer great value.
Don’t miss the homemade ginger ale!
Get your free ringo ame (candy apple) when you leave.

Kintan is a benchmark for sophisticated Yakiniku in upscale Ebisu. It delivers guaranteed A5 Wagyu quality, famous signature dishes, and a polished, smoke-free environment.
What Makes It Special:
30-Day Aged KINTAN: Their signature aged tongue is incredibly tender and flavourful. A must-try.
“Japan’s Best” Sirloin Yukke: Officially approved raw A5 sirloin yukke. It’s as good as they say.
Smokeless Grills & Chic Vibe: Enjoy top BBQ without smelling like it, in a modern, stylish setting.
Must-Order Dishes:
Aged KINTAN (various cuts): Experience the difference aging makes.
Sirloin Yukke (~$15-20): Luxurious, safe, and utterly delicious.
Yaki-Sukiyaki (~$10-15/slice): Sirloin grilled and dipped in rich egg yolk.
How to Book:
Online (Best Bet): Tabelog and the official Kintan website offer English booking.
Phone: Possible (+81-3-5428-8629), staff likely have some English.
Pro Tips:
Lunch sets offer great value ($10-$25).
Book well in advance, especially for weekends or private rooms.
It’s a step-up, so smart-casual dress is a good idea.
