Higashi-Nakano Station offers excellent transportation convenience, served by both the JR Chuo-Sobu Line and the Toei Oedo Line. Access to Shinjuku Station is particularly outstanding, taking approximately 5 minutes by JR, 9 minutes by Toei Oedo Line, and around 15 minutes by taxi. Via Shinjuku, you can easily reach Shibuya, Ikebukuro, and Tokyo Station in about 15 to 25 minutes. The Toei Oedo Line also provides direct access to Roppongi in about 19 minutes. Depending on your exact location, Ochiai Station (Tokyo Metro Tozai Line) and Nakano-sakaue Station (Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line) may also be within walking distance. Car access to expressways via Yamate-dori street is also convenient.
Living Convenience:
Despite its proximity to Shinjuku, Higashi-Nakano is known for being a safe area with extensive residential neighborhoods. The number of reported crimes in 2022 (Reiwa 4) was low compared to the nearby Nakano Station area, with zero violent crimes such as robbery reported. Residents from their 20s to 70s praise the area, with comments like “There are affordable shops and it’s safe,” “It feels like a calm town,” and “It’s quiet and easy to live in,” making it an attractive location for a diverse range of people.
